Excursion to Ireland

On Friday, March 22nd, the members of GFP embarked on a journey to the evergreen Ireland, where we spent five pleasantly spring-like and slightly rainy days. During the first days, we roamed around the western part of the Emerald Isle, visiting numerous castles, ruins, monasteries, and exploring the quaint town of Galway.

Our journey also took us to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. With windswept hair, we continued our path to the picturesque village of Adare, boasting the most thatched cottages on the island. We then ventured south through the famous hilly landscape of the Ring of Kerry, where Border Collie Bran amazed us with his skill and intelligence in herding sheep. After visiting the sheep farm, we ascended towards the idyllic Killarney National Park along the Atlantic coast.

The following morning, we were charmed by the Cashel Castle, locally known as the medieval sweetheart. We continued our journey past the Wicklow Mountains, where many successful films were shot. In the afternoon, we concluded our tour in Dublin, which invited us for an evening stroll to a traditional Irish pub. Dancers even taught the students a few steps of traditional Irish dance choreography. On the last day, we wrapped up with a visit to the center of Dublin and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. On the way back home, we unanimously agreed that we will definitely return to this wonderful island.
